1917-12-12: to be 2nd-Lieutenant, RFC. 1918-05-06: posted to 15Sqn, RAF. 1918-05-23: Hardy was OK in RE-8, B-821; when it ran into a trench in a forced landing near Varennes after moisture from cloud choked the carb. His observer, 2Lt Percy Henry Dixon (British) was also OK. 1918-09-29: Hardy was OK in RE-8, D-4945; when it ran into a trench in a forced landing after the magneto cut out on patrol. His observer 2Lt Ernest Boyden Kent (British) was also OK.
