1916-04-16: Campbell was awarded RAeC Certificate No. 3197 on a land plane at RNAS Eastbourne. Campbell was the senior officer who ran the first RNAS flight training course for Canadians at RNAS Windemere. He later served aboard HMS Campania, a Seaplane Tender and at HM Air Station Isle of Grain.
