Hostetter was an American citizen who came to Toroto to enlist in the RFC in December, 1917. 1918-04-05: posted to 54Sqn 1918-04-11: Hostetter wounded in Camel, C-8287, turned on nose on landing after hit by enemy fire on OP. 1918-09-19: posted to 3Sqn 1918-09-27: Hostetter missing in Camel F-2158, last seen at 4,000 feet in combat with 8 Fokker D.7s while on special mission. Lt Hostetter missing, presumed dead.
