Sgt Wisrodt lost his life when his Hurricane aircraft was shot down into the Sittang River east of Rangoon, Burma in the course of a solo reconnaissance mission during the British Army's retreat from Rangoon (now Yongbon) in Burma (now Myanmar). Serial No of the Hurricane is not known.
