1916-10-23: Killed while escorting a photo-reconnaissance aircraft in FE2b (4929). His pilot, 2Lt. Franklin Leslie Barnard (British) shaken, but OK. Barnard actually suffered a concussion in the crash. After an examination by the Medical Board, he was declared unfit to fly and invalided out.
