Listed as Army, but was attached to the RFC. *S.L.* 1918-03-12: Murphy died when his Maurice Farman 'Shorthorn' attempted too steep a climbing turn. It stalled, side-slipped, and nose dived to the ground with the engine full on. This was Murphy's first solo flight.
