1918-08-23: Hacker was killed on this date in a flying accident, age 35, while undergoing flight training at Deseronto, Ontario, Camp Rathburn. The Court of Inquiry into Hacker’s crash, held the next day, found that he had fallen out of his aircraft C-1324 at a height of approx. 2,500 feet, while practising spins.
