1917-10-31: Gallinger died in DH-4, A-7523; when he stalled on a climbing turn, side-slipped and spun to earth on take off for a bombing raid in the 1st Army area. His air-gunner, 2Lt Arthur William McJanet, (British), also died in the crash.
