Cunningham was an American citizen who came to Canada in 1917 to enlist in the RFC. 1918-01-13: Cunningham crashed in DH-4 A-7755, when it stalled or side-slipped when he was making a down-wind forced landing. He died the next day. He was alone in the aircraft.
