Rockcliffe on 13 October 1945. Reported to
have never flown an operational transport mission, being flown for
testing and troubleshooting only. Pending
disposal from 4 March 1946. Stored at

engine exploded shortly after take off from Malton, Ontario on 19 March
1962. Lost hydraulics, including flaps and
brakes. Deliberately ground looped on
landing to avoid ravine, nose gear and left main gear collapsed. Civil registrations after sale include N13328,
N13328, YV-C-AVP, YV-56C, N90421, N586PL, C-GKFR (1986 to 1997, various
owners including Kelowna Flightcraft and Quebecair), and N583P. Written off as N583P at Cincinnati, Ohio in
August 2004 while with Air Tahoma. Landed
short after loss of power on approach, landed one mile short of runway. |

by Convair as a Model 440, converted to Model 540/CL-66 by Canadair. Previous identities included N8446H and CF-MKO. Had been leased to the RCAF in 1960, as 11107
(which see). With No. 412 (T) Squadron at
RCAF Station Uplands, Ontario. Withdrawn
from use on 1 April 1966. To civil
register as N968N, reported scrapped in May 2003 at Tucson, Arizona. |
